Find out about fostering with Hope Fostering Services
At Hope, we understand that deciding to foster is a significant step. That’s why we’d love to invite you to our upcoming Open Days, held at our brand-new offices in Bestwood Village, Nottingham.
These are informal, pop-in sessions where you can meet our friendly team, chat with current foster parents, and ask all the questions you might have about fostering. There’s no pressure and no presentations, but definitely some cake on offer!
Skills to Foster
A few weekends ago, we had the pleasure of running our Skills to Foster training. These sessions are designed to provide people at the start of their fostering journey with the knowledge, confidence, and insight they need to take their first steps into fostering. Over three days, applicants learn about the role of a foster parent, the needs of children who come into care, the challenges and rewards fostering can bring, and the support they’ll receive along the way.
Summer Family Day 2025 – Drayton Manor
This summer, our staff and foster families came together for one of our favourite traditions – our Annual Family Day, and this year’s destination was Drayton Manor Theme Park!
Nottingham Pride 2025
Last weekend, Nottingham came alive as we celebrated Pride 2025. Thousands of people gathered together to celebrate, and Hope Fostering Services was proud to be right in the heart of it all!

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) refer to traumatic events that occur during childhood. These experiences can include various forms of abuse, neglect, and household dysfunction. Examples of ACEs include physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, physical or emotional neglect, witnessing domestic violence, parental separation, substance misuse within the household, and having a family member with mental illness or imprisoned.
The importance of training for foster parents
Fostering is a rewarding yet challenging vocation. To ensure our foster parents are well-equipped to provide the best care possible, we prioritise a comprehensive training programme. This week, we invited FosterTalk to deliver face-to-face training at our new offices in Bestwood Village.
Pride Month
Young people who identify as LGBTQ+ may face additional challenges when they are fostered. Many have needed new homes due to family rejection, discrimination, or even abuse, related to their sexual orientation or gender identity. They may be at higher risk of experiencing further discrimination unless they are placed within caring, supportive, and understanding foster families.
