Hope Fostering Services are proud members of NFS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hope Fostering is so proud of the incredible contributions of our LGBTQ+ community in providing loving and stable homes for vulnerable young people. This week is all about raising awareness and celebrating the diversity and strength that LGBTQ+ foster parents bring to our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The need for foster parents is ever-growing. Here is the latest data, for England, summarised by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thefosteringnetwork.org.uk\/\">The Fostering Network:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>56,390\u00a0children were living with foster families on 31 March 2024.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is 67% of the 83,630\u00a0children who are looked after away from home.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are around 42,615\u00a0foster families in England.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Every year, thousands of new foster families are needed in England.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These numbers are staggering!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment, and we believe that love makes a family, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. There is still a significant shortage of foster parents, and we need more people to step forward and open their hearts and homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LGBTQ+ foster parents bring unique perspectives and experiences that can be incredibly beneficial for children in care. They often have a deep understanding of what it means to be different and can offer empathy and support to children who may feel marginalized or misunderstood. By fostering, LGBTQ+ individuals and couples can make a profound difference in a child&#8217;s life, helping them to thrive and reach their full potential.
